SnowQ®, patent pending, is an advanced remote sensing solution that enables weather radar to deliver snow water equivalent (SWE) data to snowmelt forecasters and water resource managers.
Developed utilizing innovative research funded by the National Science Foundation and leveraged by the Conejos Water Management District, SnowQ® represents a breakthrough in SWE monitoring capabilities. Applications of this emerging technology are funded by a US Bureau of Reclamation SnoFo Grant. NASA funding is expanding the scale of SnowQ for global application.
At the core of SnowQ® is our proprietary technology that fuses data streams from weather radar networks, ground sensor arrays, aerial observations, and other sources. Using proprietary Quotient algorithms, the system applies machine learning techniques to generate accurate, basin-wide SWE maps.
SnowQ® can be delivered as a software as a service featuring continuously updated snowfall and accumulation of snow properties or related information collected and processed from remotely sensed or ground-based observations.
